Frequently asked questions.

What information is on a bag-tag?

This can vary across sports, or between a staff or player bag-tag.  However, for consistency, we try to adhere to a standard set of information for a sport.

Example (Soccer):

Player Info:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Jersey Number

  • Team (Varsity, JV, JVx, …)

  • Year

Staff Info:

  • First Name

  • Last Name

  • Role

  • Year

What info do I need, so you can add a bag-tag to the store for my team?

  • Point-of-contact email (the person Team-O-Matic staff can ask questions and send updates)

  • Team Names (Example: Varsity, Junior Varsity, JV2, JV3 etc.)

  • Staff Roles (If you want a bag-tag option for team staff member)

    • Head Coach

    • Assistant Coach

    • JV Coach

    • Manager

    • Etc.

We at Team-O-Matic have ideas for what information should be included on a player or staff member bag-tag, but please let us know if you would like to provide input.

Jersey numbers are not assigned until a week before the season…

Normally, when a player bag-tag is added to a cart, the customer (usually a parent) is prompted for player info, including the player jersey number.  However, if the parent does not yet know the jersey number, they can just enter ##, and we can reconcile the jersey numbers before we start printing.

Ideally, someone from the team would let us know via email (connect@teamomatic.com), that the player/jersey numbers will be provided separately.

We will not begin printing until we are confident we have all of the correct information.

Once an order is placed, how long until delivery?

There are several factors at play that determine how long it might take to fulfill an order:

  • Number of items ordered across the whole team.

  • Number of team/club orders in progress.

  • Complexity of the bag-tag (more complex designs take longer to print).

Once a teams/clubs ordering window has closed, we begin printing.  Depending upon the factors above, printing typically takes anywhere from a few days to a week.

How does local shipping work?

Local shipping, even via USPS, is expensive (around $5 to ship a single bag-tag).  For teams that are opening up an ordering window, we try to identify a staff member or team-parent that is willing to take on the responsibility of receiving a single shipment of all the orders for the team/club, and then distributing the purchased items.  There is still a small fee per order for packaging.

Once all of the orders for a team/club are complete, we will either hand deliver or ground ship the bundle to the person identified above.

Items we need from the person taking the finished product for the team/club:

  • For hand delivery: Email and/or Phone number, in order to contact prior to delivery and establish a drop location.

  • For USPS shipping: Email and/or phone number, plus full shipping address information.

How durable are the bag-tags?

We are currently using PLA for our bag-tags.  PLA has its pros and cons.  It is strong, easy to work with, and comes in a very large selection of colors.  However, it has lower impact resistance, and a lower melting point.  This can cause degradation over time.

We do NOT recommend…

  • putting these bag-tags on luggage that you do not intend to carry onto a plane (checked bags).

  • exposing them to temperatures above 120 degrees (do not hang them from a rearview mirror).
